Literacy: Students wrote thank you notes to parent council for funding our recent field trip and to parent volunteers for coming with us! We continued working on procedural writing. We did lots of word work focusing on prefixes and suffixes. Math: More adding and subtracting! This week we focused on two new strategies: open number lines and "take a one." I have put a series of YouTube videos on Google Classroom that explain the various strategies so that students can practice at home if they need to :) Social: We have been looking at geographical features of ancient civilizations and the pros and cons of them!
