Literacy: We wrote paragraphs about what we did during the "October Break" (the strike haha). Students also wrote paragraphs about what climate zone they would live in if they could live anywhere in the world! Numeracy: We started learning about coordinate geometry. We did lots of mystery pictures. On Friday, students used robots in math centers all focused on coordinate geometry.  Art: Students used oil pastels to make pumpkins and used watercolour paints to make little ghost families.

 Short Week! Here's a look at what we did!  Literacy: We continued working on writing paragraphs. Students are focusing on adding strong topic and conclusion sentences, details, and transition words. Students are also focused on editing for capital letters, punctuation and spelling. Here is our current grading rubric if you would like to continue practicing at home!  This week's topics included:  What did you do on the long weekend? What makes a strong leader? What can you do this year to be leaders at our school? Mini Books: Here's a video on how you can make mini books at home!  Numeracy: We continued learning about place value. Students worked on comparing and ordering various numbers up to the millions and down to the thousandths.
