Literacy : Paragraph writing: Students have continued working on writing paragraphs this week. This weeks topics were Class Job Applications, Fall Equinox and First Month of School. Students used this checklist to edit their work: Numeracy : We continued working on place value. This week we introduced the concept of greater than and less than using numbers with thousandths. This song has been stuck in my head all week so please enjoy our current favorite song at home too! Students played two different math games to practice saying the numbers out loud and identify which number is greater. Science: Students continued tracking the weather for various cities in the five climate zones we have been learning about. Current events: We started the week by going on a community walk with the other grade 5 classes to celebrate the fall equinox. Students sat ad journaled about their observation of the environment.
