Dec 1-5
Literacy:
Students worked together to mark a pretend student's procedural writing task based on a 4 point rubric. They then decided what the "next steps" would be for the pretend student. Finally, students wrote a better version of the text in their notebooks.
Math:
Basic Facts: Lots of parents asked for some resources to practice multiplication and division at home. Here is a link for some worksheets to print off. Here is a link for online flashcards. You can also just use a note book to practice writing inverse equations to build connections between multiplication and division. For example, 3x3=9 and 9➗3=3
We continued working on adding and subtracting decimals. This week we focused on word problems and practicing different ways to show our thinking.
On Friday, students flew across the sea to Hawaii and had lunch at the Kona Counts Cafe! (All pretend obviously!😋) Students looked at menus and answered a serious of questions. Why be so elaborate? BECAUSE LEARNING IS MORE FUN THIS WAY! 😁
Social Studies:
We started talking about the question: How has geography contributed to the development of civilizations and empires?
Science:
We went to the flight museum!
Buddies:
We helped buddies with the regions of Canada.
Art:
Students worked on the next step of their relief printing project.
Important Information:
