 Literacy:

We worked on stories! Students have been doing a fabulous job working on descriptive writing. This week students used this picture prompt to write a short story.

Math:
We finished up addition and subtraction (Show What You Know's were sent home on Friday!) and started on statistics. This week we focused on Stem and Leaf plots.

Science:

We focused on exploring these curricular outcomes:

  • Buoyant force is an upward force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of anything placed in the fluid.
  •  When the buoyant force is greater than the weight of an object, the object will float.
  • When the buoyant force is less than the weight of an object, the object will sink.

We did two science experiments this week.
The first experiment was to observe and compare the buoyancy of various natural and manmade objects in water.

The second experiment was to observe and compare the buoyant force of various fluids.

Social:
Students worked on postcards for ancient civilizations.

Students played Blooket to test their knowledge of geographical features of ancient civilizations.

Restart:
Students learned about emotional awareness.

Art:
Students did an art critique.
